Terry Adamson, Westeck Windows & Doors

After 32 years in the fenestration industry Terry is the epitome of an industry ladder climber. He began in 1985 loading windows onto delivery trucks with an eye on a career with an opportunity to advance. With stops in production, operations, purchasing, sales, and spending eleven years as General Manager of Westeck Windows, his focus is always bettering the industry. He served for eleven years with WDMA-BC/FenBC to June 2015, and the last three years on the Board of Fenestration Canada, recently accepting the role of 2nd VP . Now as Westeck’s Technical Director, Terry understands the challenges facing manufacturers trying to work under very confusing code conditions, never reluctant to voice his opinion, or listen to others in the hopes of finding solutions.

Matt Batcha, FeneTech

Matt Batcha has been with FeneTech for fifteen years and is currently a member of FeneTech’s business development team focusing on the window and door industry. Prior to moving into business development, Matt served for nearly ten years as the software development manager. He holds a BS in computer science from Ohio Northern University and an MBA from Kent State University.

Gaetano Nino Caldarola, Red River College

As a result of working in the Automotive, Agricultural Equipment, and Aerospace Industries before teaching CAD for the past fourteen years, Nino is extremely knowledgeable and comfortable in the latest CAD technology and enjoys presenting to audiences in a classroom environment. He has also worked with customers in concept development and prototyping in the mechanical and manufacturing engineering fields. He has worked with various high profile and High Tech companies (Parker Hannifin, ULA, Valve Software, MC Gill, Boeing, CNH, Stratasys, Rand Worldwide, etc…). He has also consulted with several start‐up companies for various new product and project ranging from computer peripherals to Satellite launch vehicles. He has been written up in various engineering periodical and newspapers (Design World, CG Design, National Post, Globe and Mail on‐line, and Autodesk internal newsletters). He has also worked on personal development projects which have taken him into the new technologies of rapid prototyping and 3D Print. His ultimate achievements have been 2 models (recognised as the most complex and largest in the world) that have been 3D Print produced and exhibited at Autodesk University (Las Vegas) 2009 and 2010. Both models are on display at Autodesk Gallery. Mr. Caldarola has a bachelor's degree in Science (Mathematics, University of Manitoba), and certification in Aircraft Engineering Technology (Ryerson Polytech, Toronto). Mr. Caldarola has attended all advanced training session (on‐line & direct) provided by Autodesk up to and including 2017. He currently holds several design/engineer/prototyping certifications.

Frédéric D'Anjou, JRC Machinery

Prior to joining the JRC Machinery team, Frédéric learned at the young age of 21 to become an entrepreneur. He managed a window cleaning and residential maintenance franchise from 2009 to 2014. This parkour taught him early on a good work ethic, to be structured and professional. Sales were a big part of his responsibilities, and he took pride in understanding his customers needs and offering personalized solutions. In 2014 he simultaneously finished his degree at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), handled his business responsibilities before closing the books, and joined JRC Machinery as a sales representative. Frédéric now covers the whole Canadian territory, as well as the northwestern states of the USA. His goal, over the 100+ window and door manufacturers that he met, is to find in which production process there is a best ROI potential for his customer by moving toward automation. In his personal life, Frédéric is passionate about traveling the world with a backpack, and wishes to keep adding new countries to his 20+ list

Katherine Delves, NRCan

Katherine Delves is Chief of Standards Development in the Office of Energy Efficiency at Natural Resources Canada. She has worked in energy efficiency for more than 15 years developing market transformation strategies and collaborating on standards in multiple equipment areas. Previously she worked in the electric utility industry. Katherine is a Professional Engineer with a Masters in Law from York University.

Al Dueck, DUXTON Windows & Doors

Al Dueck, Owner and Founder of DUXTON Windows & Doors, has dedicated more than 25 years of his professional life to the window manufacturing industry. Graduating from the University of Manitoba with an MBA, Al has always been particularly passionate about product design and building envelopes. A large portion of his industry background involved leading edge glazing – technological advances offering greater energy efficiency, comfort, and durable warm edge configurations. Al is the founding president of Fenestration Manitoba and is also active within Fenestration Canada.

Aynsley Dueck, DUXTON Windows & Doors

Aynsley Dueck joined DUXTON Windows & Doors in 2012 as the second generation of the family business. Prior to joining the manufacturing industry, Aynsley graduated from the I.H. Asper School of Business as well as the Art Institute of Vancouver. In 2014, she completed her Yellow Belt in Lean Manufacturing, and is now working on her Green Belt.

Jon Eakes, Canada's Original TV Handyman

Jon Eakes was Canada's original TV Handyman starting with Mr Chips in 1978 through 8 years on HGTV up to 2004. A master teacher and a building consultant who works with the industry, sits on CSA committees, CHBA Technical Research Committe and who is often called on to help get their information into the field.
Presently he is the author of Tool Talk, a regular column in the Canadian Home Builder magazine ; has a one hour hot line radio show in Montreal which is also heard in London Ontario ; maintains a 2,000 page website on home improvements on JonEakes.com; and has his own web broadcast studio on WebTogether.ca.
Jon is Canada's EverReady bunny that just never stops beating the drum.

Tracey Epp, Pitblado

Member of the Executive Committee of the Firm. Focuses on Labour and Employment law. Tracey represents clients before labour boards, administrative tribunals and the courts. Assists businesses in drafting and negotiating collective agreements and employment contracts. Acts as independent investigator to a number of organizations. These investigations often relate to respectful workplace, sexual harassment and personal harassment complaints.

Dave Goldsmith, P.Eng., Senior Design Engineer, Ply Gem Canada

Dave has 27 years’ experience in fenestration design and manufacturing and is responsible for regulatory/code compliance and intergovernmental affairs at Ply Gem. He volunteers on the CSA Technical Committee on Performance Standards for Windows, Fenestration Canada’s Technical Services Committee, the NAFS Joint Document Management Group, the AAMA Document Management Committee and is on the Board of Directors for FenBC. In 2017 AAMA attempted to make changes to AAMA 450 Voluntary Performance Rating Method for Mulled Fenestration Assemblies in order to bring composite units into its scope but reached an impasse. For 2018, AAMA has asked Dave to chair a Task Group that will work on creating a new standard for composite units.

Amber Gunderson, Chameleon Top Coatings Ltd.

Amber Gunderson with her husband Vince are the owners of Chameleon Topcoatings Ltd. Ian Marshall, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Manitoba

Ian Marshall, Lean Champion, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, joined CME Manitoba Division in 2005 as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Initiative, a joint industry / government funded initiative aimed at helping Manitoba manufacturing companies improve productivity and achieve world best performance. In this role, Ian delivers the Lean Greenbelt and Blackbelt certification programs, assists public and private sector organizations on enterprise-wide Lean transformation and supports the five Manitoba Lean consortiums. Ian is a professional engineer and spent 12 years driving Lean initiatives in the automotive and aerospace divisions of Lucas Industries in the United Kingdom and across Europe. Marco Patermann, Global Architectural Products and Services LLC

Bill Perry, GED Integrated Solutions

Bill Perry has 22 years of experience in commercial glass and window & door industries designing and implementing production systems. He has visited over 150 plants servicing, designing and implementing automation equipment and software. Bill is experienced in the coordination of capital equipment installation and system transition along with specialties in optimization of glass and vinyl.

AJ Piscitelli, FeneTech

AJ Piscitelli is a member of FeneTech’s R&D group where he spearheads the FENml initiative to develop a baseline IoT communication standard to allow machinery, software, and suppliers to talk the same language. He has been with FeneTech for ten years.  Prior to becoming a member of the R&D group, AJ served as a project manager on many FeneVision ERP installations for window, door, and glass fabricators. He is a certified Project Manager Professional and received his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

Joseph A. Reed, P.E. – Senior Director, Intertek

Mr. Reed has continuous professional experience since 1988 and has been with Architectural Testing/Intertek since 2002.  He currently oversees the company’s Product Testing, Project Testing, Structural Systems Testing, Material and Components Testing and Engineering Services operations in York, PA.  He also serves as Task Group Chairman for ASTM E06.51.17 Task Group on Impact Resistance.   Mr. Reed is a licensed professional engineer in seven states.  He has a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University and is also inventor or co-inventor on fourteen United States Patents.

Serge Rondeau, WTS Paradigm

Serge has over 25 years of experience in ERP and manufacturing management. He is knowledgeable in the fields of electronics, food industry, furniture, wood industry, hardwood flooring, distribution, burners, and the manufacturing of doors and windows. He is an expert analyst and project manager of the development and implementation of management information systems. Along with Matt Batcha, he’ll share his experience and expertise about the best practices in ERP implementations.  

Harry Schroeder, Manitoba Hydro

Harry Schroeder is an engineer at Manitoba Hydro focusing on building science and the practical implementation of energy efficiency in the building envelope. With almost 30 years experience in contracting, consulting, and project management, he is able to provide a unique perspective to the industry. He is committed to bridging the gap between research and practice through education and regular interaction with national committees as well as the local design and construction industry.

Dale Treftz, Joseph Machine

Four decades of experience in the Fenestration Industry, the last eight plus years with JOSEPH MACHINE Company, who’s headquarters are located in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, although Dale is based out of Seattle.  Dale enjoys supporting the Fenestration Industry through his appointment as Regional Sales Manager, a sequel to the last 25 years of Technical Sales, Service Management, and Customer Service.  Dale’s early years involved; management, manufacturing process development, capital machine procurement, project management. When his professional schedule allows, Dale enjoys fishing and boating in Puget Sound.
